Smokey came from Fox Lake where he lived outside. He was being fed for 3 years by a lovely couple whom had adopted his sister and always watched out for him. It is a remote area and Smokey was not thriving. He was transported to Edmonton before Christmas and was in pretty rough shape. He had a horribly infected huge open wound to his neck that without treatment probably would have killed him . He also was very lame on his front left leg. He went right to the vet where he was hooked up to IV for dehydration and antibiotics. His wound was cleaned and he was monitored on fluids for a couple days. Once he was feeling better he was put under anesthetic to get neutered and assess his limp. His toe was badly broken and had to be amputated as well. He is a lucky dog that someone cared enough to bring him so we could help him. His vet bill is just shy of $1000, which does not effect his adoption fee. He is good with cats and most other dogs, he likes the ladies better. He is house trained but needs to be kenneled when left unattended as he has no experience being left inside a house by himself. He is ready to be adopted and know what it is like to live inside, loved and taken care of.
