This mare was pulled out of a sale at Westlock and was slated meat only. She was very lame coming in and no wonder with this from foot. She had recently had shoes pulled and was so calm and cool at the sale. We couldn’t leave her there to get on the meat truck. Our farrier will be out to assess this foot and we will work out making her sound again with very consistent foot care. She is 3 yrs old and supposed to be very well broke. Once she can be worked again we are very hopeful that she will be a very promising little girl. She is around 14 hands and would make a great pony club mount. She is always first at the gate and very hard to take a picture of as she is always trying to see what snacks are in your pockets. Keep your eyes on her. As she is not ready to find her new home yet we are asking for sponsors for her to help us cover vet and farrier costs as well as feed until she is ready to be assessed by one of our partner trainers. She will be seeing the vet to get a soundness check and a dental and vaccinations/deworming. Donations can be made to

  1. Hello
I would be interested in Ruby when she is available. I live on a farm (80 acres)with my husband. We have horses, donkeys, and small critters.
I am a retired Farrier(30 years) and specialize in special needs hooves.
Most of the horses we have are also retired here from previous owners to be taken care of .
Please let me know when she is available. Thankyou
