Layla

Layla was returned by her adoptive family again for the second and is looking for a new hopefully forever home! She just recently turned a year old. Layla is a snuggly dog who’s good with other animals. She has been wonderful with my indoor cats but likes to chase them when they are outside. She has separation anxiety but when she’s left with another dog she is fine and not destructive. She barks at people when she meets new people and tends to jump upon them. This is what caused Layla to be brought back. She is not aggressive in the foster home and has never tried to bite anyone. Her bark is mean sounding and she does jump and her mouth hits people in the face. Layla would be best suited for a home with older children and a fenced yard. She is being returned due to her barking. She ran to the end of her driveway and barked at some kids. She did not get aggressive she just was barking and excited. She loves to play fetch and get lots of exercise. When she is at home hanging out with her family she is more calm and relaxed. Since she has been rehomed twice it is very important that whoever is interested in adopting Layla is invested in training and working with her through some of her behaviors. She is very smart and knows how to sit, shake a paw, lay down, and generally will stop when you tell her no. She should go to a home with another dog who plays well with other dogs. She shouldn’t go to a home with young children under the age of 12. I think that a farm or acreage would be best for her so that she has lots of space to run and isn’t bothering anyone with her barking and doesn’t have to be on a leash.
