I am adopted!

Hi Sorry for not getting back to you sooner she is doing really well she pretty much owns the house. She is the boss over 2 dogs and 18 chickens as well as 5 humans. She has grown into a very beautiful spoiled little girl. Thank you for doing what you do if ever there comes a time when we would like to adopt again we will be in contact with you. Thanks Margo & Fiona 🙂

I am adopted!

Cindy (now ‘Java’) is doing awesome 🙂 She’s the biggest suck in the world and would do just about anything for a cuddle (including hang around our toddler). She’s amazing with our son and they’ve become good buddies already. Java always follows us into Isaac’s room in the morning when we go to let him out of his crib. Isaac’s first words are often “Cuddle Java” because he’s so crazy about her. We are constantly needing to tell him to be nice to her because she’s so patient she’ll just let him pull her fur or follow her around trying to cuddle her (which looks more like a ‘head-lock’ somedays). We love that she’s so calm and patient with our high-energy chihuahua, Otto. It took a few days for them to make peace, but now we’ve started catching them playing together! Otto is crated when we are out and Java is allowed to stay loose but it’s so cute to see their excitement when I let them out together when we get home. Java has given us a few scares with taking off on us, but is becoming more reliable at responding to her name and we’ve successfully had her off-leash on a few walks. She is not without her quirks, however… For the first bit she dutifully buried every toy or treat she got and has developed a nasty habit of jumping up on the kitchen table to finish any food left there when nobody is in the room. While this has been aggravating for us at times, Java responds really well to corrections so we are hopeful that she’ll figure out this isn’t cool pretty quickly. Otherwise, she is the world’s best dog and we are so happy with our decision to adopt! Thank you for all of your help! Sincerely, The Pruski family

I am adopted!

Emma is now known as Lily, as our Dogs name is Emma and we thought it would be a bit confusing. Lily and our Dog are best of friends, they even sleep together, not often is one found without the other. Lily is most unusual about the places she finds to sleep, and often sets my three year old into a fit of laughter. Her most memorable place was in the elevator of the fisher price toy garage, as I panic that she has somehow got herself stuck call in my husband to help, she calmly wakes up gets herself out and walks away. She chases toys cars, and bats them back to my boys, and my one year old has even taken to meowing every time she comes near. She is a cute, curious, cuddly cat, who brings lots of joy into our house, and I am very grateful you help bring her into our lives. Awesome organization!

I am adopted!

Inara is doing very well, she and the dog are getting along great. She’s grown so much! She seems very happy, and loves everyone who comes over. She really enjoys waking me up every morning when she is hungry by purring loudly in my ear and cleaning my face….

I am adopted! 2009

Hi Tessa, I’m sorry I took so darn long to ever email you regarding “Becky’s” adoption. We got her from you in July of 2009 and absolutely love her to pieces. We renamed her Pebbles and she’s as spunky as ever. Thank you again for taking such good care of her, we love her with all of our heart. We might be looking at adopting another kitten so she can have a friend (we kick ourselves for not adopting two in the first place!) in the spring or next fall. I’ll keep my eyes peeled on you Wharf’s adoption page J Leanne Lamane

Denter – ADOPTED (my current vet bill is $1173.02)

Hey everybody, this little guys name is Denter. Denter was a stray living in a northern community in Saskatchewan. We noticed his ear was a bit floppy and he had scabs all over his body, we got him into the vet clinic as soon as possible to be assessed. After getting him under anesthetic the vets did a thorough exam. He had very old trauma to his ear, mouth, testicles and back which they figured was from being attacked by a dog. This was a very long and difficult surgery for Denter and the vets. His ear had tried to heal it self but did not heal in a good way, the vets had to make him a new ear canal. It was full of pus and they also found pieces of a dogs teeth lodged in his ear. His teeth were severely damaged which had to removed, he had lots of scarring on his testicles from dog bites and his scabs were all cleaned up. Denter is in very good spirits despite his major surgeries and horrible past and is recovering great. He is now playing and putting on weight and ready for adoption. If you would like to help out with Denter’s vet bills any donation would be greatly appreciated. He is also up for adoption now and ready for his new home if you are interested in meeting this boy!!! His ear is a little floppy and he doesn’t hear out of it very well but he is still just as cute. Thanks to the Crestwood Vet Clinic Team for fixing this boy up!

Gully – ADOPTED (my current vet bill is $1457.63)

I am adopted but my vet bill is outstanding.

Meet Gully, she is about 10 weeks old and was rushed here after someone found her in Saskatchewan with a very damaged leg. We got Gully to the vet clinic and after assessment the vet came to the conclusion that her leg was unrepairable. This little kitten was booked in for an amputation. Even with a broken leg Gully till purred non-stop and nuzzled her head into your neck. We are happy we got to get this girl the proper care she needed. She is almost fully recovered and ready for adoption. Thank you to the Crestwood Vet Team for helping this girl. Any donations towards gully’s vet care would be greatly appreciated.

Fletcher – ADOPTED (My Current Vet Bill is $4265)

I am adopted but my vet bill is outstanding.

This boy is Fletcher. He’s had a rough start to his life. Hes about 5 months old skin and bones and now an amputee. A lady named Steph helps rescue animals in Saskatchewan and she received a call about a pup that had been laying in a ditch for 5 days. Steph drove out and rescued Fletcher. He had been hit by a car and both front legs were so severely damaged that he dragged himself into the ditch and strived to stay alive hoping someone would help him. He also didn’t eat or drink for 5 days and he was already so skinny and so cold. Steph took him to the nearest vet where they stabilized him until we could find transport. Fletcher couldn’t move his front legs and one leg was shredded and his bones and nerves were exposed. Once we got Fletcher we took him straight to Crestwood vet Clinic. After assessment and x-rays the vets came to the conclusion one leg had to be amputated as his bone was too exposed and he had broken his humerus bone. It was unfixable. His other front leg had a fracture but luckily for Fletch it could be fixed. He went into surgery and it went really well. He is now in recovery and being very well taken care of. We have a lot of thank yous that all helped in Fletchers rescue. Steph, Kathy, all the staff at Crestwood Vet and Lisa – Fletchers foster home. His recovery is going to be a long one but well worth it. We will post updates as they come in. If you would like to help out with Fletchers vet bills it would be greatly appreciated. You can donate through our Facebook, paypal on our website or e-transfer. Thank you so much in advance. Sorry the pictures of Fletcher are a bit graphic.

I came to WHARF from the SPCA so my story is a mystery. What’s certain is I was pretty skinny and had mats so I must have been living a pretty rough life on the streets. The first two days of moving to my foster home my foster mom patiently cut out the mats which at first was uncomfortable, but boy does that do a lot for one’s self esteem! I’m even pretty patient with the regular combings and glad my hair is growing back to make me the handsome boy I was meant to be. Mom says I’m handsome and have the loveliest velvety fur coat, so I’m spending more time with my grooming to make her proud. I am not finicky and really enjoy the regular meals and treats – although I may have to cut back soon. I am a big laid back kind of dude and like being close to my foster mom and getting pets and cheek rubs. I am well behaved and am quickly learning the rules around here – like not climbing on the kitchen counters. I get along with my roommate Taffy (except when she pushed me to my limits) and am fascinated watching her chase balls around, sometimes I even join in! It’s quiet here and nice to have all the attention on us so I think that’s what I would prefer. I sure would like to find a forever home where I can chill with my people. I do get along with other cats – not sure what dogs are but I’m told they have four legs. I like to play and chase balls or grab feathers but over all I’m pretty chill. I sure hope I find a forever home soon! Ask about me today. I am ready for you, neutered, de-wormed and vaccinated.
